Before you buy or sell a used 990 Pro 1TB

Initial production runs of the Samsung 990 Pro 1TB had a firmware fault that caused reported SMART health percentages to drop rapidly under normal use. Ask the seller for a Samsung Magician screenshot showing current health, total host writes, and that the firmware has been updated.

This PCIe 4.0 drive has onboard DRAM and is a higher-tier part than the later DRAM-less 990 EVO, and it is sold in both bare M.2 and factory-heatsinked versions.
