The 2TB capacity of the Samsung 980 Pro was the main model hit by the 3B2QGXA7 firmware bug, which causes irreversible read-only lockup once SMART media errors appear. Insist on a CrystalDiskInfo screenshot showing the 0E media error counter at zero and the firmware updated to 5B2QGXA7 or newer.
Check whether the listing is the bare M.2 2280 stick or the thicker factory heatsink variant, as the factory heatsink cannot be easily removed to fit under motherboard M.2 shields.
