Before you buy or sell a used 970 EVO Plus 1TB

Do not confuse the 970 EVO Plus 1TB with the older non-Plus 970 EVO or the SATA-only 870 EVO. This is a PCIe 3.0 x4 M.2 2280 NVMe drive, and Samsung silently revised its hardware during production to swap the original Phoenix controller for the newer Elpis controller.

Ask the seller for a Samsung Magician or CrystalDiskInfo screenshot showing total terabytes written, drive health, and genuine authentication, as counterfeit Samsung M.2 drives circulate on marketplaces.
