Before you buy or sell a used i5-11400F

Unlike the 10th-gen chips on the same LGA1200 socket, this Rocket Lake i5-11400F will not work on B460 or H410 motherboards at all, and Z490 or H470 boards require a BIOS update. Native support starts with 500-series boards such as B560.

The F suffix means there is no integrated GPU, separating it from the standard i5-11400. At 65W TDP with a 4.4 GHz boost, boxed units include a basic Intel cooler, though power limits on B560 boards vary widely.
