Before you buy or sell a used Ryzen 7 9700X
AMD dropped the default rating on the eight-core 9700X to 65W with a 5.5GHz boost, though later BIOS updates added an optional 105W mode. Do not confuse it with the 120W 9800X3D or the older Zen 4 7700X.
Despite the 65W rating, no cooler is included in the retail box. If pairing this 2024 Zen 5 chip with an older B650 or X670 board alongside DDR5 RAM, confirm the motherboard BIOS has been updated first.
