Before you buy or sell a used GTX 970

The GTX 970 splits its 4GB GDDR5 memory into a fast 3.5GB segment and a slower 0.5GB portion, causing frame drops once games pass 3.5GB. Nvidia has ended regular Game Ready driver support for Maxwell, and newer DirectX 12 Ultimate titles will not launch.

Most partner cards for this 145W GPU need two 6-pin connectors or an 8-pin plus 6-pin setup. Check listings for fan bearing noise and coil whine.
